Rationale of holding Paribesh Utsob:

As a part of social responsibility, Rural Services Foundation (RSF) has decided to celebrate the International Environment Day by holding a quiz competition on climate change, renewable energy technology and 3R issues (reduce, recycle and reuse) for the candidates of SSC and its equivalent examination of 2008. It is expected that fifteen thousand students will attend the quiz competition. This program is to encourage the students to increase their knowledge on environment as well as to make them conscious about the climate change. Bangladesh is facing an environmental crisis and the devastating flood and cyclone of last year is an example of such crisis. We should be careful about the environment and if we can involve our children in this process, it would bring a positive change in the society. We know that students play an important role to mobilize the community and work as a change maker of their own family, community and society.

Program strategy:

• Holding the program with a close coordination with local administration. A central committee would be formed at national level and seven member local committee would be formed at the sub national level.
•  
• The central committee would be responsible for preparing question paper of the quiz competition.
• A registration booth would be established beside each SSC examination center.
• Registration would be from 27 March to 3 April 2008.
• Quiz competition would be on 23 May at 10:00 AM at the same time in the above mentioned upazillas.
• 200 winners of the quiz competition would be awarded five thousand taka, a crest and a certificate each.
• Award giving ceremony would be on 5 June on the day of International Environment Day.

How to enroll:

• Candidate of SSC and its equivalent examination are allowed to participate in the examination, registration is  free of charge.
• Two photo copy of admit card is required for registration.
• RSF has opened ten registration both near the examination center and interested participant can register their name until 3rd April, 2008.
